Layout UI and Angular
Design a cohesive Angular interface with AI. Layout UI brings balanced spacing and shared component styles while Angular keeps responsibility for application structure, forms, and state.
At a glance
| Decision | Layout UI | Angular |
|---|---|---|
| Main role | Semantic components, shared themes, and focused native interactions. | An application framework with components, dependency injection, routing, and forms. |
| Visual defaults | Coordinated spacing, colors, corners, and interaction states. | Choose your styling and component library; Angular Material is a separate choice. |
| Forms | Native controls and examples for labels, descriptions, and errors. | Form models, validation, and coordination with application state. |
| Standalone use | Ordinary HTML pages with optional component scripts; no required framework build. | Angular applications use Angular’s runtime and development tooling. |
| Together today | Native element directives for buttons, inputs, dialogs and themes. | Signals, reactive forms, AOT production output, cleanup, server rendering and hydration tested. |
A consistent interface without repeating design decisions
Layout UI gives forms, buttons, and dialogs a shared visual language. Theme tokens coordinate color, spacing, and corners across the interface, while semantic markup stays readable for people and AI.
Choose Angular for application structure
Angular is a good fit when a team wants a common approach to components, dependency injection, navigation, and forms. Layout UI does not replace those application services. Angular Material is a separate component library; compare it separately when choosing ready-made Angular widgets.
Start with one real form
For an integration evaluation, begin with a labeled input and button in an Angular template. Let Angular own form state and validation. Use Layout UI’s documented markup and scoped styles, then verify error messages, disabled states, keyboard navigation, and light and dark themes. The Angular directives use render hooks and destruction cleanup. The example verifies reactive forms and an AOT build without shipping the JIT compiler.
From a brief to a considered screen
Start with a preferences form. Tell your AI who it serves, the main action, and what should feel calm, prominent, or compact. Read the AI guide and choose documented components before adding custom styling.
Keep Angular form state and validation intact. Use the documented directives, then verify disabled states, error messages, focus, and cleanup.
Refine hierarchy and spacing first, then color and motion. Compare the actual screen at phone and desktop widths, in light and dark mode. Shared defaults provide a starting point; the finished experience still needs review.
Design your first screen
Start with a clear brief and a shared design foundation. Check the integration contracts, then refine one real screen with your AI.
