Layout UI and Vue

Build a considered Vue interface with your AI coding tool. Layout UI supplies coordinated visual defaults so you can focus on the experience while Vue manages reactive application behavior.

Together today

Vue components with v-model, native events, and shared CSS.

Vue 3 forms, lifecycle, server rendering and hydration tested.

Start with consistent defaults

A form needs more than reactive data. Labels, spacing, errors, focus rings, and responsive controls should feel related. Layout UI centralizes these decisions in semantic components and theme tokens, giving both people and AI a predictable starting point.

When Vue is a good fit

Vue supports incremental adoption, from enhancing existing pages to building single-page applications. Its component model helps organize connected interface state. Vue can be used without a build step too; a build-free workflow is not unique to Layout UI.

Combining the layers responsibly

Use the Vue Button, Input, Dialog, and Theme components with native attributes and v-model. The adapter initializes native modal behavior on mount and disposes it on unmount. Server-rendered theme tokens and generated IDs stay consistent through hydration. Vue owns reactive state; the shared controller owns the native dialog.

Choose a contained first screen

For a mostly static page, evaluate standalone Layout UI. For a stateful Vue application, retain Vue and try Layout UI styles on one form. Check validation, keyboard access, reactive updates, and teardown before broader adoption.

From a brief to a considered screen

Start with a profile editor. Tell your AI who it serves, the main action, and what should feel calm, prominent, or compact. Read the AI guide and choose documented components before adding custom styling.

Let Vue own reactive state and form bindings. Start with the documented components, then verify model updates, reset behavior, and keyboard access.

Refine hierarchy and spacing first, then color and motion. Compare the actual screen at phone and desktop widths, in light and dark mode. Shared defaults provide a starting point; the finished experience still needs review.

Design your first screen

Start with a real form or page and judge the result against your own requirements.
